AI Sketch Robot Comparison
The AI sketch robot niche has grown fast and still has no clear leader in Europe. We have put the units you can actually find today into one table, using the criteria that matter to someone about to buy: how long each drawing takes, whether they sell it to you or only rent it, and whether they publish a price.
How We Compared
Before the table, the transparency we would like to find in other comparisons.
The CaricaBot is built in Seville. We are not going to pretend otherwise, so instead we show the criteria and the sources so you can check them yourself.
Third-party data comes from their own websites, consulted in August 2026. Where a manufacturer does not publish a figure, we say so rather than filling it in by eye.
Draw Me Bot and DrawMatic are trademarks of their respective companies. They appear here as market reference points, not as our products.
The three criteria we use are the ones that change the decision: speed per person, because it decides how many people you serve; the business model, because buying and renting every time are not the same thing; and price transparency, because a contact form instead of a figure already tells you something.
The Units, One by One
CaricaBot. Built in Spain. Draws each portrait in pen in about 60 seconds, scales to 8 robots at once and sells from $2,490 with the PictiaX Launch Pack (final price on request), with a software licence and a 3-year warranty.
US sketch bot. The best-known US sketch bot, which presents itself as the original of the format. It publishes drawing times in the higher band and gives no prices on its site: the route is the contact form.
Draw Me Bot (Fotomaster). One of the few that does sell the unit as well as renting it, within a broad photo booth catalogue. Aimed mainly at the North American market.
DrawMatic AIrtist. Sold mostly as a corporate event activation through rental companies, rather than as a unit for direct purchase.
What to Choose for Your Case
Doing one event with no plans to repeat? Rent. Any of the rental options will get your day covered without tying up capital.
If events are your business or you already run a photo booth company, buy. The unit pays for itself around the sixth activation and is margin after that. The options narrow sharply there, because much of the market does not sell.
If your events are in Europe, support weighs more than the brand name. A unit repaired on the other side of the Atlantic stops being cheap the day it fails mid-show.
The numbers in detail are in the how much an AI sketch robot costs guide.
The robot is only half the decision. The other half is the software that runs it: AI portrait robot software compared.
The software that drives the CaricaBot is PICTIAX, with a licence and PICTICOINS, the usage currency where every portrait consumes one PICTICOIN. We explain it in the sketch robot software guide.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which Is the Best AI Sketch Robot?
It depends on whether you are buying or renting. For a one-off event, any rental provider will do. For recurring professional use you need to look at who sells the unit, how fast it draws and whether the price is public, and the market narrows considerably there.
Why Does Almost Nobody Publish a Price?
Because the dominant model is rental per event, where the price depends on hours, travel and staffing. In direct sales that excuse disappears: we publish our starting price, $2,490 with the PictiaX Launch Pack, and the final price is on request.
Is It Better to Buy in Europe or Import from the United States?
The real difference appears the day something fails mid-trade show. A unit built and supported in Europe is attended to in hours; an imported one depends on shipping and time zones. On top of the import price come duties, freight and the cost of standing idle.
Is a Sketch Bot the Same as the CaricaBot?
Sketch bot is the generic name for robots that draw portraits, and the CaricaBot is one of them: built in Spain and running PictiaX. The best-known US sketch bot in the table belongs to another company and appears only as a market reference.
How Many People Can a Caricature Robot Serve at a Trade Show?
At about 60 seconds per portrait, a CaricaBot serves roughly 60 people per hour in continuous flow. For stands with long queues it scales to 8 robots working at once, which is how you cover a fair with thousands of visitors.
